The Assassin's Creed series which was created by Ubisoft from the very beginning, already has over 20 parts with all DLC’s and add-ons counted. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the tenth, full-fledged part, released by the French studio. Assassin's Creed Odyssey, however, differs from the previous parts not only in the mechanics of the game, but also in history.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a sandbox action adventure game, strongly spiced up by elements of RPG, slasher and stealth. The game is very similar to The Witcher 3. In this part, we also receive a completely different story set in ancient Greece in 431 BC. The story here is non-linear and is not based mainly on the orders from the assassin’s brotherhood.
In Odyssey, we play the role of one of the siblings - Alexios or Kassandra. Our character is a mercenary, who was exiled from his homeland and separated from his family many years earlier. We get to know him at the time of receiving an unusual task which is the key to unite with his family again. Each of our choices and actions has an impact on the story and progress in the game.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey, however, would not be a part of the AC series if there was not a modern thread considering the Animus System and its possibilities to watch the past. This thread, however, is left far in the background, its purpose is only to scratch the consistency with the rest of the Assassin's Creed series.
The mechanics of the game are based on the TPP system and are very similar to, as we have mentioned earlier, The Witcher 3. We can travel the world on foot or on the back of a favorite mount. The game has an extensive combat and character development system. There are many real-life historical threads, humorous elements and riddles.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a great game with a huge world, full of secrets, interesting missions, many real threads and historical characters. The game is really worth playing. Due to the completely new, fresh history and modern approach in this Ubisoft production, you can play without knowing the previous parts of the game.
